Spain Approves Affirmative Action Law!

Madrid, Spain: Spain's Parliament has passed the Law of Equality, a gender-equality bill that grants paternity leave of 15 days for new fathers.

Here's the part of like: Another provision of the bill says women must make up at least 40% of the lists of candidates that parties field in elections. The bill aims at getting more women in Spain's elected office and corporate boardrooms - and more men taking care of babies.

Spain's Socialist prime minister, Jose Luis Rodniguez Zapatero, self-proclaimed feminist, has made women's rights and gender equality a hallmark of a liberal-minded government that took power in 2004.

Do you think this will ever happen in America where women are still making much less doing the same job as a man; where women bump their heads on corporate glass ceiling; and where men usu sally do not get paternity leave?
