Here's to the Dixie Chicks

for winning many awards even after the Bush comment about being ashamed to be from the same state. You know what? They were just ahead of the crowd! Now about 80% of the population are behind them. Congratulations to them for speaking out and saying their mind. They stuck to their guns and when everyone was against them created a CD that now has the nation behind them and won them awards! I wish I would have watched and heard their award receiving comments. They made history!

Tenacity! Is what it takes and they have it.

What about the rest of America? It seems they are on the bandwagon but I hope they do their homework and get every businessness and political documentary DVD they can get their hands on and learn what is happening in this country and with the political clout that businesses have with the government. Businessess via lobbyist get tax breaks, non-bid business in Iraq and get more of our tax payers dollars then we do in social benefits. The economicial political situation in this country is tipped heavily toward business in return for votes and probably cuts in the action.

Makes you wonder doesn't it? Cheney was head CEO of Halliburton and Halliburton was one of the first companies to get a non-bid contract in Iraq. As a result they have put civilian workers and military lives in harms way, waste equipment and products, and received at a "cost plus" agreement federal funding from the government.. your tax dollars you earned through your hard work. And what does the government do for you? Nothing, but pretty much take away benefits so these businesses can get more funding. See "Iraq for Sale: War for Profiteering"
