Where are the protest songs?

Maybe I need to write a few! Remember the 60's and 70's with the VietNam war, when protest songs were blazon with anger. Young men were avoiding the draft and slipping away to Canada. The war was senseless but kept big industry in business making helicopters and war equipment. It went on for about ten years until Nixon got himself in trouble with Watergate.

Conspiracy ran ramp id in those days. Kennedy, king, another Kennedy. John Lennon? Well he spoke against the government. I really don't think that sniper was just any oh crazy off the street. There is a movie coming out "Lennon vs. Washington". A must see!

Let's face it the wheels of government and big corporation CEO's do what they want to turn a buck; so what if the collateral damage is a little high.

On this labor day in a country of decreasing labor unions, I just thought I would dredge up a little history. God, it's a shame too, because many people died trying to get the labor unions in place to protect the workers from unsafe employer practices and environments. Now, slowly but surely it's all being reversed.

Personally, I think one of all (in due time) of the big auto three will fold and then come back in a vengeance without unions. Well, they see Nissan and Toyota plants here saving money hand over fist, without having to deal with troublesome and demanding unions. These is no longer any option of group bargaining. It's becoming a take it or leave it job market. Competition is stiff too, when it comes to finding a good paying decent job that includes benefits.

Keep your families small, downsize, and live cheaper smiles to be the trend today. Ditch the huge gas guzzlers and go for something small economical, easy to park and best of all "see" around.

Bicycle! To save a buck or too and get your exercise at the same time, ride your bicycle to work. You'll make terrific time flying around snarled traffic. Sport a change of clothes backpack and don't forget your helmet and front and back safety lights and watch out for crates, holes, curbs, glass, broken beer bottles, and the "nuts" on the road. Pray, like I do, it always helps.
