Evolving Generations..breaking family cycles

From DailyOM site. When we leave our childhood homes embarking on adulthood we think that we are leaving the harmful familial patterns. But are we? Rather are they self-perpetuating familial patterns that were impressed upon us by our parents and their parents? Such as fear of having enough, not showing affection, and secrecy patterns.

Not showing affection, cruelty, hatred, abuse, and secrecy patterns ran premium in my family.

But, the buck stops here where I am concerned; I'm not buying into it! I removed myself from the loveless, cruel, authoritarianism, Catholicism, patriarchal, generally male bias social standards that engulfed men in leadership roles and imprison women in eternal secondary social positions. Generation X women had to go along with it. Baby boomer women are rewriting the rules reluctantly. We might be able to break family cycles but what about social male orientated standards that keep women in lower paying jobs, even while performing the same tasks as their male counterparts. Men have been writing the rules for countless generations, it's time for them to move to the passenger seat.

Just think about it! Generally speaking across the globe society is patriarchal! Men have power!
