"WHO KILLED THE ELECTRIC CAR?" "OIL!"

I saw this documentary for the second time and I am just as upset as I was after watching it the first time. Only this time I took a friend along to get upset too and she did. She's really upset.

Here's the deal! In 1986 California was so full of smog that they developed CARB headed by Mr. Floyd. They got batteries developed by an older gentleman to make an electric car. GM was to develop the car at their California Saturn plant. Right away GM bought the rights to the batteries. Instead of using this older gentle men's batteries they switch them out the GM brand Delco (junk, no good, weak) batteries. They leased about 1000 cars to Californians and set them up with electrical plugs for home and there were electrical stations about the city. But businesses were complaining that they didn't want those stations there. But, after a while these people who wanted to protect the EV1's discovered the compliant petition was owned by GM. GM would only lease the cars so it was impossible to buy them. It was clear according to the documentary that GM, CARB, Oil, Government, state and federal wanted the project to fail and that GM didn't want car to be sold all over the country but confined in and around LA temporarily. California was the only state so far to want zero emissions standards.

Well, come to find out auto companies, are in cahoots with oil companies, which are in cahoots with the Saudi's who hold are countries huge debt (this last part I just added, it wasn't in the documentary). Do the Saudi's have the US over a proverbial barrel? It makes me wonder? Or does oil have auto tied up in a lifelong contract?

What CARB of California, auto, oil and government wasn't counting on was the protesters in California with video cameras and sound who loved this little speedy and wonderful electric car and wanted to renew their lease or buy the car. It wasn't going to happen.

Rather, GM gathered all the cars and put them on flatbed trucks and crushed them in the Arizona desert. There were also Toyotas 1997 Rav 4's, ford Rangers that had been made as EV1's (Electric Vehicle). They all got crushed.

GM gave the electric car bad rap in advertising negative points about them. In other words they tried to discourage people from wanting them.

CARB appeared rigged by Floyd and at meetings the auto makers got the most alloted time to make their points, environmentalist, and people in favor of electric cars were cut short.

There are approximately a trillion barrels of oil left in the world; if they get 100. per barrel there is big bucks to be made.

In the 70's when there was an oil crush and OPEC cut off our supply Americans paniced at the pump. Brazil went to making Ethanol from sugar cane by products and by 2007 will be petroleum free. But America stuck with petroleum because OPEC lowered the price of a barrel of oil; temporarilly of course. In the 90's after auto, oil and government eliminated the electric car threat huge gas guzzling SUV, supersized pickups and Hummers arrived on the scene. Yes, auto companies and oil were stricting back with a vengence. The government offered 100,000 tax break on any huge vehicle bought by small companies. In other words they were pushing the gas guzzlers. Oh and government saw that huge vehicle emmission controls were off or mimimum requirements; in other words the sky was the limit on how much co2 a vehiccal was allowed to put into the air. One gallon of gas burned puts one pound of co2 in the air. Around this time too government rejected Kyoto clean air invitations to join up with other countries around the world.

Bottom line there are only a trillion barrels left and government, auto and oil want to clean up and fill their pockets at your expense. If gas gets to $4.00 per gallon on an average tank fill up it will cost at least 87.00.

Has the Saudi's threatened us in some way - like by blowing up very tall buildings? You know they hold alot of our debt, don't they? Are we watching the Saudi show? Now, not all this came from the documentary; my mind is merely running on pure imagination here in some areas. You'll just have to see the documentary to separate fact from fiction of my imagination.

But isn't your curiosity up by now?

Don't you just wonder? Point is whatever is going on has to be very big and profitable for somebody to ignore the health and welfare of every living soul on the planet. But then we never did have much concern over collateral damage anyway have we. Sometimes people just get in the way of profits and progress and you have to walk over them just a bit, threaten them or use them as an example to get goals achieved.

By the way, remember it's not only the oil used in gas you put in your tank; it's also the oil the engine needs in order to run. Which tells me now why Ford builds in leaks. Yeah, I've noticed that. Look on the ground where Ford products and probably other American products are parked. Mainly I have notice Ford oil spots on the ground. Ford have been leaking oil on the ground for as long as I've been alive.

In the 1970's I remember a friend of mine saying. "Oh, that is normal for a Ford to leak about a quart between every oil change." I thought "What?" This is the 21st century and Ford still hasn't learned how to make better seals or whatever it would take to stop that leak? But now I understand the real reason behind it. Actually, it's quit fascinating. I knew a guy who drove a new Lincoln; a very pretty car, but had to add oil in between oil changes. Now I undersatnd why!

I think a certain daddy from Texas got us into trouble way back in the day when he held an office right under a star. The Star was somewhat of a puppet too. I think somehow daddy and his cronies got us over that oil barrel in the middle east. And right about then didn't he sell arms to Saddem? Say about 1986? Wasn't there some sort of arms deal or drug thing? Oh, I'm probably mistaken?

Also looking back it appears that there was mimimal media coverage throughout this whole EV1 thing. Really, I didn't even remember anything good being said about the electric car back then. Oh, I remember that they would just quit while you were driving down the highway. Oh that must have been the first Delco batteries the auto maker put in them. Of course government, auto and oil didn't want media coverage. Is that why many networks were bought up and are now owned by a couple of large corporations?

But, amazingly on 9/11/2001 there wasn't any lack of media coverage! Actually, the cameras were perfectly placed and aimed right at 3/4 up the towers. and back for enough so you could see the planes come in. Amazing. They didn't appear to be hand held because there was no amateur shaking or voices to be heard along with the perfect video coverage. Wow! I bet the news people were amazed to get perfect historical coverage as instantly as it happened. I just marvel at TV and media's expert reportings.
